Welded sash durability testing procedure

Research is conducted in the R & D department on new products and materials used in the production of window and door systems. Tracking up to the minute developments in modern plastic extrusion technology and window fabrication machinery are all part of the many projects undertaken by the VEKA Research & Development team.

Modern, energy efficient fenestration products require extensive testing and various certification requirements before they reach the customer. VEKA can meet these requirements and perform the many tests needed to meet strict building and enviromental codes.

VEKA's in-house test facilities can simulate wind, water, and structural loads to obtain the best ratings possible. The test chamber meets the requirements of AAMA and ASTM and is used extensively for customer prototypes, new systems and units that might exceed normal production sizes.

An extensive database of present and past testing on VEKA window systems is available to VEKA fabricators for use in marketing and sales publications. A list of certified VEKA products is also produced by AAMA and NFRC.

Rigorous testing ensures optimal quality

VEKA's fully equipped fabrication facility builds prototypes to a client's specifications prior to testing. The fabrication department uses the same equipment and techniques found in a typical fabrication plant. This insures that the window is built to the specific criteria, as the fabricator would build to in his own facility.

NFRC codes and standards are rapidly gaining acceptance throughout the United States. Computer simulations for this testing can be performed in VEKA Inc's Research & Development Department.

These tests are conducted at VEKA after physical testing and simulations are verified by NFRC, greatly streamlining the process of obtaining NFRC certification.

Reasearch & Development is a vital aspect our operation here at VEKA. The proper formulation and testing is exacted in the development of each product to assure high performance.
