VEKA Achieves DP100 Rating on Windows
VEKA Achieves DP100 Rating on Commercial Tilt and Turn window
PVC Profile extruder VEKA Inc. based in Fombell, Pennsylvania recently completed and passed AAMA/WDMA/CSA 101/I.S.2/A440-08 testing for its Euroview 70DS Dual Action Tilt and Turn window. The testing was performed at VEKA’s in-house testing facility, witnessed and certified by Architectural Testing, Inc. (ATI), based in York, Pennsylvania. The Tilt and Turn window size tested was 48” (1219mm) x 72” (1829mm).
The Commercial Grade Vinyl Products achieved a Design Pressure of 100 psf, which
is equivalent to 242 mph wind. In layman’s terms, the product can withstand winds generated by a F4 tornado. The greatest hurricane wind speed ever recorded was hurricane Camille in 1969, which produced sustained winds from 205-210 mph. “This was one of our big goals for the Commercial Window Division for 2009,” states Kevin A. Seiling, Director of Engineering for VEKA in North America. “We feel this class of product is the future of vinyl. It retains superior structural and thermal properties that exceed the criteria for the newly proposed energy codes and is the ideal product for all levels of construction from residential to architectural grade products.”
